INITIATIVES FOR FARMERS WELFARE

Agriculture sector has remained the major source of livelihood in the Indian economy and contributed about one fifth of national output during 2016-17. The sector is poised to grow at a rate of 2.1 per cent in the current fiscal. The Budget-2018 has main advantage over the previous budgets in terms of strengthening the market driven system instead of much focus on supply side of agricultural production.
