Visually Impaired woman Clears Civil Service Examination

Sujitha told Deccan Chronicle on Thursday that she owes her success to her mother J. Sivakami, who motivated her to take up the civil service examination.

“I studied BA (English literature) in a private college in Villupuram. “Even though my mother studied only up to Class 9, she used to read out to me from the textbooks of all my subjects and newspaper articles too. She is not only my mother but my angel,” said Sujitha, who took public administration and sociology as optional subjects in the UPSC main examination.
